Rising of Shield Hero game adaptation
Shield Hero: RISE is a free role-playing game for mobile from developer Eggtart. It is a video game adaptation of the popular manga and anime series, The Rising of the Shield Hero. It lets players experience the story and lets them take part in battles and character interactions.
Similar to Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai 2 and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, Shield Hero: RISE is made for fans of anime games along with a cute 'chibi' art style. It incorporates various RPG mechanics to let players customize their characters to deal with different enemies and situations.
Become the Shield Hero
Isekai is one of the most popular anime genres ever, combining fantasy themes with action, humor, and relatable characters. In that regard, The Rising of the Shield Hero stands out by tackling dark and mature themes in its story, while still having plenty of heart and endearment. Here then comes Shield Hero: RISE, a video game adaptation that aims to capture the essence of the original story.
In Shield Hero: RISE, you will experience the story from the beginning, joining Naofumi as he embraces his poignant role as one of the Cardinal Heroes and the titular Shield Hero. Along with his faithful companions, Raphtalia and Filo, you will take part in various quests to help the people of the land, fight off the mysterious Waves, and uncover the secrets of where they came from.
There's also a time travel element that has you go back in time to meet various characters, forge alliances, and find a way to prevent calamity. There's even a romance aspect through romantic interest that lets you form special bonds with one of your companions. It's not all great, though, as the art is a bit inconsistent, the UI is cluttered, and the game suffers from frequent crashes.
A decent adaptation
If you're a fan of the anime, the Shield Hero: RISE video game adaptation offers a new way to experience the story all over again. It stays faithfull to the original story and the RPG mechanics make combat and customizing characters fun and engaging. While it has some visual inconsistencies, they're not enough to detract from the experience. Hopefully, the crashes get fixed soon, though.
